Thank you for your patience. This is to let you know that I have placed a new order for you - for one vial of ab89487 as a free of charge replacement and the new order number is 978590. Currently, we are waiting for the new stock and as soon as we get it we will dispatch your new order. One more note is that we have changed the storage information for this product on the on-line datasheet and as it states: " The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon delivery aliquot and store at -20°C or -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles." I hope the new vial will work as it is expected, and please do let me know how you are getting on with this product.

    Question

I don’t understand your statements about the lots from your email. On your shipment vials you specify that is different lot or batch or whatever you call it. All I know is that in my assays only  2 free of charge replacement vials (GR 46331-3 ) worked. And I have provided you with the SDS-PAGE and Western blot to prove that the quality of protein is not the same for GR 46331-3 (good) and GR 46331-2 (bad). So I will appreciate very much if you can send me the new replacement vial that is of equal quality of GR 46331-3 for my purchase made with the latest PO#972126. Best regards,

    Answer

Thank you for getting back to me. I completely understand your frustration and try to do my best to solve this problem as soon as possible. I would like to update you on this issue: The lot number is an identification number for the synthesis/purification. The product can be placed to our different stocks in different times and the batch numbers (GR 46331-3, GR 46331-2) represent when the actual aliquots were placed into our freezers. Since the lot you received was identical, there was no difference in purification in between the vials. I have asked my colleagues to get new vials from the stock as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this

    Answer

Thank you for your response. We can provide new vial from the same lot. After reviewing and discussing this issue carefully with the originator, I would like to clarify that both Abcam  batch numbers GR 46331-3 (two free of charge replacement vials No:959627) and GR 46331-2 (No:972126) correspond to a unique lot (lot# 0942901). Furthermore, it was indeed the same lot which was shipped to you previously on two separate orders (No: 938829 and 898042). The originator didn’t produce a new lot at the time because after re-testing it, they found that the case was most likely isolated (the protein might have been damaged somewhere along the way). Just to confirm that we still have one vial from exactly the same lot in our US stock. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Question

The replacement vials that you have sent, lot number #GR 46331-3, are working very well in my assay. As I have stated in my email I have purchased the new vial just last week, so that means after I have received the replacement vials. I wanted to make sure that I have enough of a good protein to finish the experiments. However you have sent me the galectin-3 from your old lot #GR 46331-2 that is not working well in my assay and I believe it’s because His tag gets cleaved off.  You can see from the gel and western blot provided in my email that galectin-3, lot number #GR 46331-3, has much stronger top band (correct) than galectin-3 from the old lot #GR 46331-2. I did not specify in my order that I want galectin-3 from the lot number #GR 46331-3. I have assumed that after my complaints you will send the good quality product. As I have mentioned in my previous email I can return you the recently purchased vial because I cannot do my assay with that quality of protein. Looking forward for your answer. Regards,

    Answer

Thank you for your enquiry and for getting back to me. I am very pleased to hear that that the two replacement vials from the very new batch worked fine. Just to clarify the new vials were specifically prepared for you and the new batch is still not ready to release. We have not received any similar complaints about the old batch so we have still kept it in stock in our different offices (UK/US/JP/HK). Since you are based in the US and myself work in the UK (Cambridge) office, in future it would be very much appreciated if you could specify which batch you would prefer to get when placing a new order. Otherwise my colleagues in the US Customer Service/Goods Out Department would not known if there was any particular issue with certain batch. Currently, we still have only one vial from the old batch and I am liaising with the Lab to get more vials from the new purification. I will get in touch with you as soon as I can. Thank you for your

    Question

Thank you very much for the replacement vials of His-tagged galectin-3 that was delivered at the beginning of October. However I have to inform you that I have just bought a new vial of 100 µg of galectin-3 (PO#972126) that is from the old batch (lot #GR 46331-2) that has a bad quality protein, please see attachment. I will appreciate very much if you can send me the replacement product from the good batch that has a lot number #GR 46331-3. If you would like I can ship back the vial that was just received. Looking forward to hearing from you. Regards,

Thank you for your recent message. Could you please confirm if the replacement vials which were arranged on Order NO: 959627 worked as expected or not? This information would be very important for us and for our Lab. Did you purchase the new vial (GR 46331-3) after or before the new free of charge replacements were shipped to you? Have you requested a different batch while placing the new order? I look forward to hearing from you soon and hope to solve this as soon as possible.

    Question

please find my answers to your questions below: The two batches (GR46331-1 and GR46331-2) are from the same purification. This means that there should be no difference between these two vials. If these two samples are from the same purification why we had to wait 3 weeks for delivery? Please find below copy of the confirmation from Abcam for the PO#938829. - Could you please explain if the two samples were run on the same gel head-to-head or separately and the image was annotated? The samples were run on the same gel. - How the proteins were stored? Were the packages shipped on ice? Both proteins were stored at +4C. Shipping?? I will appreciate very much if you could confirm the quality of your batches. I am particularly concerned about the quality of your first batch. The His tagged galectin was a minor band on the gel based on the Western blot of both samples. Therefore I would like to ask for the replacement of this product. Looking forward for your answer. Thank you for providing some further details. I have contacted you on the 27th September but still not heard from you. To see whether it was an isolated case, we re-verified our previous tests and tested other vials from the same lot. We believe it was indeed an isolated case. We can certainly replace both vials or arrange a credit note or a full refund for you. Could you please get back to me and let me know how you wish to proceed. I apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
