I would like to enquire about the product Glutaredoxin 1 protein (Active) (ab63231). Is it recombinant human glutaredoxin 1? What is the activity of the enzyme (units/ml)?

The Glutaredoxin 1 protein (Active), ab63231, is the Glutaredoxin 1 protein from Saccharomyces cerevisiae (SwissProt reference P25373).
The activity of the protein was ascertained by monitoring its ability to oxidize NADPH. The activity was calculated to be 3X10^-3 micromol/min. The reaction mix contained NADPH (0.4 mM), GSH (1.0 mM), glutathione reductase (17 ug) and HED (1.4 mM) in 0.1 M Tris HCl, pH 7.4.
A mixed disulphide between HED and GSH is formed within 2 minutes, and the reaction was started by the addition of 17 ug Grx1. The reaction was followed by the decrease in A340 due to the oxidation of NADPH.
