  • Reconstitution
    Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at 4oC for 1 week or -20oC for future use.

These two proteins are the same, except for the reconstitution instructions (water versus 20 mM Hcl). Both should work equally well in inhiibiting MPC-11 cell growth.

Thank you for your recent telephone enquiry. I am pleased to confirm I have obtained the original testing procedure for inhibition assays using ab50097 GDF8 / Myostatin protein. Cytotoxicity Assay for h-Myostatin using MPC-11 cells Procedure: 1. Resuspend cells in assay media containing 10% Horse serum. Transfer 100ul/well to assay plate (10,000 cells/well; passage #7) 2. Serial dilute h-Myostatin in assay media in separate plate in duplicate. 3. Transfer 100ul/well to cells in assay plate 4. Final assay volume of each well is 200ul containing 10% Horse Serum and h-Myostatin as indicated below. 5. Incubate 66 hours 6. Add 20ul of commercially available cell proliferation assay reagent to each well. 7. Incubate 37oC and read OD at 490nm. I hope this is helpful to you.
