Preparation and Storage

  • Stability and Storage

Shipped at 4°C. Store at +4°C. Avoid freeze / thaw cycle. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein on reconstitution (0.1% HSA or BSA).

    pH: 7.40
    Constituent: 95% PBS

5-10% trehalose is commonly used for freeze drying, and after reconstitution, the trehalose is mostly about 3-5%

This product is an active protein and may elicit a biological response in vivo, handle with caution.

  • Reconstitution
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized product in 20 µl sterile deionized water to a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Solubilize for 30 to 60 minutes at room temperature with occasional gentle mixing. After reconstitution, store under sterile conditions for 3 months (-70degC).

  • Function

Growth factor active in angiogenesis, lymphangiogenesis and endothelial cell growth, stimulating their proliferation and migration and also has effects on the permeability of blood vessels. May function in the formation of the venous and lymphatic vascular systems during embryogenesis, and also in the maintenance of differentiated lymphatic endothelium in adults. Binds and activates VEGFR-2 (KDR/FLK1) and VEGFR-3 (FLT4) receptors.
  • Tissue specificity

Highly expressed in lung, heart, small intestine and fetal lung, and at lower levels in skeletal muscle, colon, and pancreas.
  • Sequence similarities

Belongs to the PDGF/VEGF growth factor family.
  • Post-translational
    modifications

Undergoes a complex proteolytic maturation which generates a variety of processed secreted forms with increased activity toward VEGFR-3 and VEGFR-2. VEGF-D first form an antiparallel homodimer linked by disulfide bonds before secretion. The fully processed VEGF-D is composed mostly of two VEGF homology domains (VHDs) bound by non-covalent interactions.
  • Cellular localization

    Secreted.
  • Information by UniProt

Images

  • Immobilized Human VEGF R3, Fc Tag at 5µg/mL (100 µL/well) can bind Human VEGF-D, His Tag with a linear range of 0.08-0.6 µg/mL.
  • The purity of ab191393 was determined by DTT-reduced (+) SDS-PAGE and staining overnight with Coomassie Blue. DTT-reduced protein migrates as 18-20 kDa due to different glycosylation.
