    Answer

Thank you for contacting us and your interest in our products.

I have the following answers to your questions:

    Q1. Is ab82455 https://www.abcam.com/H5-H5N1-antibody-8D2-ab82455.htmlhttps://www.abcam.com/H5-H5N1-antibody-8D2-ab82455.html specific bind to ab123220 (Influenza A, Avian, Vietnam 1203/04, H5N1, Hemagglutinin protein)?

The antibody ab82455 is specific to haemagglutinin H5 of influenza A. It has been tested with following strains:

    Antigen
    8D2

    A/Chicken/Indonesia/Wates1/2005 (H5N1)
    Neg

    A/Chicken/Indonesia/Wates130/2005 (H5N1)

    A/New Caledonia/20/99 (H1N1)
    Neg

    A/Wyoming/03/2003 (H3N2)
    Neg

    A/Hong Kong/1073/99 (H9N2)
    Neg

The antibody has also been tested with recombinant hemagglutinins H1-H4 and H6-H15 and results were negative with all of them.

    Q2. will ab82455 only specific bind to ab123220 (H5N1) but it won't specific bind to ab61986/ab69741 (H1N1) or ab824554/ab124562 (H3N2)?

Following on from the information above, the antibody ab82455 should not cross react with the H1N1 or H3N2 influenza proteins.

Q3. In data sheet of ab135382, it is mentioned "reacts with Human". May I ask that what is the safety requirement for using this item in a Biosafety level 2 environment? is it dangorious to human?

Thank you for pointing this out to us. This is an error. Ab135382 reacts with the viral protein and the reactivity should therefore not have been set to "human". This has now been corrected. You should not need any additional safety measures to use.

Q4. What is the different between ab135382/ab82455/ab73453, if ab123220 is used as the binding pair.

ab135382, ab82455 and ab73453 are all mouse monoclonals raised against the Influenza A virus (H5N1/HA1). The difference comes from the immunogen used to raise the particular antibody. All three should be able to recognise the ab123220. However, as we have not tested any of these products in gold sensor surface testing we would not be able to guarantee how the products would perform.

I hope this information has sufficiently answered your questions, please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

    Answer

    Thank you for contacting us.

    Q1. Is ab82455 Anti-H5 (H5N1) antibody [8D2] specific bind to ab123220 (Influenza A, Avian, Vietnam 1203/04, H5N1, Hemagglutinin protein)?

Answer: Yes, the antibody will recognize this protein, ab123220.

    Q2. will ab82455 only specific bind to ab123220 (H5N1) but it won't specific bind to ab61986/ab69741 (H1N1) or ab824554/ab124562 (H3N2)?

Answer: Yes, the antibody will only recognize H5N1. The antibody has been tested with recombinant hemagglutinins H1-H4 and H6-H15 and results were negative.

Q3. In data sheet of ab135382, it is mentioned "reacts with Human". May I ask that what is the safety requirement for using this item in a Biosafety level 2 enviroment? is it dangorious to human?

Answer: The antibody is not dangerous. The datasheet note, "Reacts with Human", is a mistake and will be removed from the datasheet. The antibody recognizes a viral protein, not a human protein.

Q4. What is the different between ab135382/ab82455/ab73453, if ab123220 is used as the binding pair.

Answer: Antibody ab82455 is the best choice of the three, since it has been characterized more thoroughly than the other two, and is known to react with Influenza A, Avian, Vietnam 1203/04, H5N1.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.
