General notes
Reproducibility is key to advancing scientific discovery and accelerating scientists’ next breakthrough.
Abcam is leading the way with our range of recombinant antibodies, knockout-validated antibodies and knockout cell lines, all of which support improved reproducibility.
We are also planning to innovate the way in which we present recommended applications and species on our product datasheets, so that only applications & species that have been tested in our own labs, our suppliers or by selected trusted collaborators are covered by our Abpromise™ guarantee.
In preparation for this, we have started to update the applications & species that this product is Abpromise guaranteed for.
We are also updating the applications & species that this product has been “predicted to work with,” however this information is not covered by our Abpromise guarantee.
Applications & species from publications and Abreviews that have not been tested in our own labs or in those of our suppliers are not covered by the Abpromise guarantee.

Applications
Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab241936 in the following tested applications.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Application | Abreviews | Notes |
---|---|---|
Flow Cyt | Use 5µl for 105-8 cells. Use 5 µl (1 µg) per test. The antibody has been diluted for use at 5 µl per test, defined as the amount of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of approximately 100 µl. The number of cells within a sample should be determined empirically, but typically ranges between 1x105 to 1x108 cells. |
Target

Function
Integrin alpha-X/beta-2 is a receptor for fibrinogen. It recognizes the sequence G-P-R in fibrinogen. It mediates cell-cell interaction during inflammatory responses. It is especially important in monocyte adhesion and chemotaxis. -
Tissue specificity
Predominantly expressed in monocytes and granulocytes. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the integrin alpha chain family.
Contains 7 FG-GAP repeats.
Contains 1 VWFA domain. -
Domain
The integrin I-domain (insert) is a VWFA domain. Integrins with I-domains do not undergo protease cleavage. -
