    Question

Thank you for your prompt action. 4-AP has a very potent effect on the channels we are studying, therefore even low levels of non-caged compound are strongly inhibited.
I would prefer to wait for the replacement.
Should I refer any queries about this order to us.technical@abcam.com?
Thank you again for the quick action.

    Answer

I now have further information to share with you in regards to the RuBi-4AP (ab120410). We do not have any further stock of lot number APN12359-1-1 available other than the 7 vials you have placed an order for.
We will however be producing more of the compound. I can understand why you would be concerned over the purity of this new batch but please let me reassure you that we will be carrying out stringent quality control testing to make sure that the impurity that was identified with the previous lot you purchased is not present.
I would suggest placing an order for one vial when the new lot comes into stock and if you are not happy with it we would refund you.
I hope this information has been of help. If I can be of any further assistance please do let me know.
Until then, I wish you all the best with your research.

    Answer

Thank you for getting back to us with that information.
I am glad to hear the new RuBi-4AP (ab120410) has worked well for you. We currently have a further 3 vials (3x10 mg) of the same lot, APN12359-1-1, in stock. We would expect to have further material in stock, however this would be of a different lot number. We would however make sure to test this new lot with the same analyses which revealed the impurity in the lot you had problems with.
I hope this information has been of help. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.

    Question

I have encountered a problem with the Rubi-4AP I ordered (*). This is a 'caged' compound.
It appears that the compound is not well caged in this batch. Although the compound was never exposed to light,
results with the caged Rubi-4AP are similar to that with 4-AP itself.
I would appreciate a replacement order (3 vials, 10mg) from a new batch. Please don’t hesitate to contact me
    with any concerns.

    Answer

Thank you for your patience in this matter/
Following analysis we have some more information about this compound. It appears that low levels of 4-AP (about 6%) have been detected in the sample. We are in the process of improving the purity and would like to thank the custom you for bringing this matter to our attention.

We envisage the purification will take three to four weeks. Therefore, I can go ahead and refund the cost of the original purchase, or if you would like to wait for the new batch to be produced, I can send you replacement vials then.
Please let me know, how you would like to proceed.
We would like to apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
