  • Relevance

    The genus Salmonella is a member of the family Enterobacteriaceae. The genus is composed of Gram-negative bacilli that are facultative and flagellated (motile). Salmonellae possess 3 major antigens; the "H" or flagellar antigen (phase 1 & 2), the "O" or somatic antigen (part of the LPS moiety) and the "Vi" or capsular antigen (referred to as "K" in other Enterobacteriaceae). Salmonella typhi is strictly a human pathogen and is the causative agent of Typhoid fever which is characterized by a sustained fever as high as 40°C (104°F), profuse sweating, gastroenteritis, and nonbloody diarrhea

We have 5 antibodies to Salmonella typhimurium:

ab69238 - was raised against the whole bacteria thus we do not know where the antibody would bind.

ab8274 and ab65922: both were raised against LPS of the bacterium which I suppose is located in the bacterial wall and not the flagellum - this should work (https://www.abcam.com/salmonella-typhimurium-0-4-antibody-1e6-ab8274.html)

ab63901: was raised against the bacteria, but known to be reactive with the LPS - thus, it should work.

ab128709: raised against purified LPS from Salmonella typhimurium and reacts with an unidentified LPS determinant of Salmonella typhimurium - thus it should work for your purposes (https://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=128709).
