Involvement in diseaseDefects in SART3 are the cause of disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis type 1 (DSAP1) [MIM:175900]. DSAP1 is an autosomal dominant disorder, characterized by multiple superficial keratotic lesions surrounded by a slightly raised keratotic border, developing during the third or fourth decade of life on sun-exposed areas of skin.

Cellular localizationCytoplasm. Nucleus speckle. Localized in speckles. However, this protein is undetectable in the nucleus of any cell lines of nonmalignant cells or normal tissues, except for the testis. SART3 was immunoprecipitated from HeLa (human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) with ab224810 at 3 µg/mg lysate. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab224810 at 0.04 µg/ml.
Lane 1: ab224810 IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Lane 2: Control IgG IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure time of 30 seconds.
