      The regulatory networks governing development and differentiation of hematopoietic cells are incompletely understood. Members of the Schlafen protein family have been implicated in the regulation of cell growth and T cell development. Four new members, Schlafen 5, Schlafen 8, Schlafen 9 and Schlafen 10, which belong to a distinct subgroup within this gene family have been identified and chromosomally mapped. The characteristic feature of these proteins is the presence of sequence motifs identifying them as distinct members of the superfamily I of DNA/RNA helicases.

    Thank you for your enquiry. Ab24379 has been tested in western blotting in preliminary experiments which gave an approx 70kDa band in Mouse Liver lysates after 1µg/ml antibody staining. Currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 104kDa according to NP_853523 and as we do not believe we have a suitable positive control we currently do not guarantee this product to work in WB. The 70kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. We therefore sell this product as a Fast Track product: As Fast-Track antibodies are not yet fully characterised we are unable to offer our normal level of technical support. We cannot guarantee that the antibody will work in any application other than ELISA against the immunizing peptide and therefore we are unable to offer a refund if the antibody does not work in your application. However, Fast-Track antibodies are offered at a reduced price. We would greatly appreciate feedback on these antibodies, whether positive or negative. We will award 1,000 Abpoints to the first researcher who sends us positive feedback (including an image and details of materials & methods).
