WB
1/1000 - 1/10000. Predicted molecular weight: 52 kDa.
IHC-P
1/50 - 1/100. Perform heat mediated antigen retrieval with citrate buffer pH 6 before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
  • Application notes
Is unsuitable for Flow Cyt or IP.
  • Target

    • Function

Predominant protein in semen. It participates in the formation of a gel matrix entrapping the accessory gland secretions and ejaculated spermatozoa. Fragments of semenogelin and/or fragments of the related proteins may contribute to the activation of progressive sperm movements as the gel-forming proteins are fragmented by KLK3/PSA.
Alpha-inhibin-92 and alpha-inhibin-31, derived from the proteolytic degradation of semenogelin, inhibit the secretion of pituitary follicle-stimulating hormone.
    • Tissue specificity

      Seminal vesicle.
    • Sequence similarities

      Belongs to the semenogelin family.
    • Post-translational
      modifications

      Transglutaminase substrate.
Rapidly cleaved after ejaculation by KLK3/PSA, resulting in liquefaction of the semen coagulum and the progressive release of motile spermatozoa.
    • Cellular localization

      Secreted.
    • Target information above from: UniProt accession P04279 The UniProt Consortium

      Question

      Dear xxxxx,

Thanks for the quick reply. That is a good point. The reason that I selected that antibody is that you list the synthetic immunogen sequence on the product page.

In that case would your monoclonal Anti-Semenogelin I antibody [EPR3675(2)] (ab139405) be more likely to perform this task? And if so, do you know the sequence of its synthetic peptide immunogen?

      Thanks,

      Anti-Semenogelin I antibody [EPR3675(2)] (ab139405)

      Answer

      Thank you for your reply.

It may indeed be easier to try this experiment with the rabbit monoclonal antibody ab139405. However, the immunogen information is proprietary information. In order to try to help you further could you explain what you are trying to achieve?

Is the target of Semenogelin I important?

What do you intend to use the peptide displacement experiment for?

Do you intend to publish the results of this experiment?

I hope with this information I may be able to provide further suggestions as to how this experiment may be designed.

I look forward to receiving your reply.
