Hi, I want to order Anti-SOX13 antibody (ab96776), the data sheet showed that SOX13 predicted MW is 69 KD, but the western blot showed the SOX13 band is actually higher than 72 KD. I am asking why, it is due to modification? And also have you tried IP with this antibody? Thanks!

Currently, only antibody ab113281 has been tested for IP of SOX13. Interestingly, it also detects a protein larger than 69kDa in blots of HeLa and 293T cell lysates.

I do not have an explanation for the discrepancy between the predicted molecular weight and the observed molecular weight in western blots. It may be due to post-translation modifications but as far as I know, the only modification is phosphorylation at several sites.
