    StayGreen/AP is a substrate chromogen system designed to be used for either IHC or ISH when using alkaline phosphate detection. StayGreen/AP produces a green color. It is insoluble in alcohol and xylene solutions (both aliphatic hydrocarbon and citrus based) therefore sections can be dehydrated in alcohol, cleared in xylene substitute and permanently mounted.

    This chromogen substrate system may be used for both automation and manual use.

Great color, good stablity

The StayGreen/AP chromogen produces a very nice green color that contrasts well with other available IHC chromogens and/or counterstains- great for potential multi-color IHC. The stability of the StayGreen working reagent (up to 6hrs) is surprisingly good too, compared to that of other AP reagents (often 20-60minutes).

I can suggest to use a strepavidin that is coupled to an enzyme, for example: ab128985 (Streptavidin Peroxidase (Ready-To-Use)) and combine this with a suitable chromogen, for example: ab94665 (DAB substrate kit)

Another possible combination would be a strepavidin-AP ab128984 (Streptavidin Alkaline Phosphatase (Ready-To-Use)) with a more colourful chromogen like ab103743 (StayBlue/AP 30ml), ab156428 (StayGreen/AP) or ab103741 (StayRed/AP 30ml).
