Streptavidin Alexa Fluor® 594 (Monovalent) (ab272189) provides a rapid, robust, and flexible method for attaching fluorochromes to biotinylated antibodies. The antibody- Streptavidin Alexa Fluor® 594 (Monovalent) complex is stable and can be used in the same way as antibodies conjugated directly with fluorochromes.
Streptavidin Alexa Fluor® 594 (Monovalent) is a unique immunolabeling tool as it enables multiplexing with multiple biotinylated antibodies. There is no spillover of Streptavidin Alexa Fluor® 594 (Monovalent) reagent between antibodies and antibodies of the same animal host species can be used.
The Streptavidin Alexa Fluor® 594 (Monovalent) labeling reaction is efficient and can be run in such small volumes that it becomes practical to label individual antibodies with fluorochromes depending on the experiment.

Multiplex immunostaining of a frozen tissue section of mouse spleen using four biotinylated antibodies labeled using Streptavidin (Monovalent) kits. T cells (rat anti-CD3, 7 µg/ml, green), B cells (rat anti-CD45R, 7 µg/ml, red), macrophages (rat anti-CD11b, 7 µg/ml, white), and dendritic cells (hamster anti-CD11c, 7 µg/ml, blue) were detected using Streptavidin (Monovalent) kits with four different fluorochromes. Picture was taken with a standard fluorescence microscope equipped with appropriate filters for optimal multicolor separation.
Antibodies labeled with Streptavidin (Monovalent) kits are as bright as directly conjugated antibodies. Flow cytometry analysis of splenic B lymphocytes immunolabeled with antibodies against CD45R (B220, clone RA3-6B2, 7 µg/ml). Dark green = directly conjugated antibody, light green = Streptavidin (Monovalent)-labeled antibody.
