Product nameStreptavidin Antibody Conjugation Check Kit
Streptavidin Antibody Conjugation Check Kit (ab270051) is a quick and simple immunochromatography test that allows you to confirm the successful conjugation of streptavidin to your antibody without the need for any specialized or costly equipment.
The key component of the kit is a nitrocellulose membrane containing a ‘Test line’ of immobilized Protein A and Protein G called a “half strip” The key component of the kit is a nitrocellulose membrane containing a Test line of immobilized Protein A and Protein G with high affinity for the Fc region of a variety of IgG molecules, and a 40 nm Gold-Biotin conjugate for detection. Once the streptavidin-antibody conjugate is mixed with the 40 nm Gold-Biotin conjugate, it forms a complex that flows along the nitrocellulose membrane. When the complex is bound by the Protein A and Protein G concentrated on the Test line, a visible red line appears on the strip confirming that the conjugation was successful.
Quick and easy qualitative test to check success of conjugation
Compatible with antibody conjugates generated with Lightning-Link® Streptavidin conjugation kits (ab102921)
No costly equipment required
Small volumes of conjugate required (10 μl)
This product is manufactured by Expedeon, an Abcam company. It was previously called Streptavidin Check&Go! Antibody Labeling Confirmation Kit. Expedeon product code 4004-0030 is the same as the 30-test size of this product.

How the kit works:
The nitrocellulose membrane contains a ‘Test line’ of immobilized Protein A and Protein G with a high affinity for the Fc region of a variety of IgG molecules. The strips also contain an absorbent pad to promote and control the flow of sample through the nitrocellulose. The streptavidin-antibody conjugate is run on the Protein A/G strip together with 40 nm gold conjugated Biotin as detection label. Biotin binds streptavidin with exceptionally high affinity and when the streptavidin-antibody conjugate flows along the nitrocellulose membrane, upon binding to the Protein A and Protein G on the T-line, a visible red line appears on the strip.
Signal intensity of different Streptavidin–Antibody conjugates
Rabbit IgG has been conjugated with to Streptavidin and run on Protein A / G strips at different concentrations together with 0.2OD Gold conjugated Biotin. The signal intensity varies based on the antibody species.
