There is little published data on the expression of hSulf-1 in cell lines, making it difficult to select either positive or negative control lysates. The predicted Mw of hSulf1 is 101 kDa. However, expression and immunoblotting of an epitope tagged human cDNA generates a presumed full-length product of ~132 kDa in CHO cells (PubMed=12368295). Interestingly, several other species of the following Mw (by SDS-PAGE) are also observed (63, 58, 42 and 44 kDa) upon transfection of the C-terminally tagged cDNA. This antibody detects species of similar mobility to the full-length (132 kDa) and 58 kDa products. Further characterisation of this antibody is required, although initial data looks promising.
