Spindle assembly factor. Required for normal assembly of mitotic spindles. Required for normal assembly of microtubules during apoptosis. Required for chromatin and/or kinetochore dependent microtubule nucleation. Mediates AURKA localization to spindle microtubules. Activates AURKA by promoting its autophosphorylation at 'Thr-288' and protects this residue against dephosphorylation. -

During mitosis it is strictly associated with the spindle pole and with the mitotic spindle, whereas during S and G2, it is diffusely distributed throughout the nucleus. TPX2 was immunoprecipitated from 1mg of HeLa (Human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) whole cell lysate with ab264124 at 0.4µg/mg lysate. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab264124 at 0.1µg/ml.
Lane 1: HeLa whole cell lysate 50µg (Input).
Lane 2: ab264124 IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Lane 3: ab264124 IP in HeLa whole cell lysate plus blocking peptide.Exposure time: 1 min.
