  • Immunohistochemical analysis of HIV-infected syphilitic skin tissue, staining Treponema pallidum with ab20923.

Antigen retrieval was performed before blocking with normal horse serum and 2% BSA. Samples were incubated with primary antibody overnight at 4°C. A biotinylated horse anti-rabbit IgG was used as the secondary antibody. Staining was detected using AEC.

Thank you for your email and sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

We have unfortunate not used the anti-Treponema pallidum antibody (ab20923) with the reagents you have described. I can say we have used the antibody in a 1/100 dilution in staining of paraffin embedded tissue sections. However, this is likely to require further optimisation when used in your particular tissues and protocol to obtain the best results.

I would just like to point out that the reagents we provide are all intended for research and development purposes only. They are not suitable for diagnostic or clinical purposes.

I hope this information has been of help. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Thank you for your phone call yesterday and for your questions about ab20923. I have heard back from the laboratory that produces ab20923, and I was told that they recommend using pH 6 citrate buffer for antigen retrieval. Please let me know if you have further questions or if there is anything else that I can help you with.
