Target
-
Function
Promotes the fragmentation of the mitochondrial network and its perinuclear clustering. Can induce cytochrome c release from the mitochondrion to the cytosol, ultimately leading to apoptosis. Also mediates peroxisomal fission. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the FIS1 family.
Contains 1 TPR repeat. -
Domain
The C-terminus is required for mitochondrial or peroxisomal localization, while the N-terminus is necessary for mitochondrial or peroxisomal fission, localization and regulation of the interaction with DNM1L. -
Post-translational
modificationsUbiquitinated by MARCH5. -
Cellular localization
Mitochondrion outer membrane. Peroxisome membrane. - Information by UniProt

Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) analysis of human kidney tissue sections labeling TTC11/FIS1 with Purified ab156865 at 1/8000 dilution (0.08 µg/mL). Heat mediated antigen retrieval was performed using Heat mediated antigen retrieval using Bond™ Epitope Retrieval Solution 2 (pH 9.0) . Tissue was counterstained with Hematoxylin. Rabbit specific IHC polymer detection kit HRP/DAB (ab209101) secondary antibody was used at 1/0 dilution. PBS instead of the primary antibody was used as the negative control. M3
