Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab208556 in the following tested applications.
This product gave a positive signal in HepG2 cells fixed with 4% formaldehyde (10 min) and 100% methanol (5 min)
FunctionThis protein promotes the GTP-dependent binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the A-site of ribosomes during protein biosynthesis.
Involvement in diseaseCombined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency 4 (COXPD4) [MIM:610678]: A mitochondrial disease resulting in neonatal lactic acidosis, rapidly progressive encephalopathy, severely decreased mitochondrial protein synthesis, and combined deficiency of mtDNA-related mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes. Note=The disease is caused by mutations affecting the gene represented in this entry.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the GTP-binding elongation factor family. EF-Tu/EF-1A subfamily.

ab208556 staining TUFM in HepG2 cells. The cells were fixed with 4% formaldehyde (10 min), permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 for 5 minutes and then blocked with 1% BSA/10% normal goat serum/0.3M glycine in 0.1% PBS-Tween for 1h. The cells were then incubated overnight at +4°C with ab208556 at a 1/100 dilution (pseudocolored in red) and ab195887, Mouse monoclonal to alpha Tubulin (Alexa Fluor® 488), at a 1/250 dilution (shown in green). Nuclear DNA was labelled with DAPI (shown in blue).
Image was taken with a confocal microscope (Leica-Microsystems, TCS SP8).
This product also gave a positive signal under the same testing conditions in HepG2 cells fixed with 100% methanol (5 min)
