    Yeast TUP1 Ssn6p repressor complex represents a novel paradigm for transcriptional repression and for the role of chromatin in repression. TUP1 and SSN6 are involved in repression of several diverse families of genes in yeast, including cell type specific genes regulated by the alpha2 and a1/alpha2 repressors. Ssn6 Tupl interacts with class I histone deacetylases required for repression, and recruitment of yeast Tuplp Ssn6p repressor is associated with localised decreases in histone acetylation.

    Answer

    Thank you for your enquiry. The cell line used was transfected to express a fragment of the TUP1 protein, which was the antigen used to develop the antibody. This protein fragment has a molecular weight of approximately 35 kDa. Therefore, the 35kDa band was detected in WB. Unfortunately, we have not tested the product using full length protein and therefore, it is possible that the higher band size you observed with yuo r samples could be the full length protein.
