    E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that accepts ubiquitin from the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme UBE2D1 in the form of a thioester and then directly transfers the ubiquitin to targeted substrates. Can assemble unanchored poly-ubiquitin chains in either 'Lys-29'- or 'Lys-48'-linked polyubiquitin chains. Has preference for 'Lys-48' linkages. It can target itself for ubiquitination in vitro and may promote its own degradation in vivo.

  • UBE3C was immunoprecipitated from HEK-293T (human epithelial cell line from embryonic kidney transformed with large T antigen) whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) with ab226173 at 6 µg/mg lysate. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab226173 at 0.4 µg/ml.

    Lane 1: ab226173 IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.

    Lane 2: Control IgG IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.

    Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure time of 3 seconds.
