  • Function

    Forms a channel through the mitochondrial outer membrane that allows diffusion of small hydrophilic molecules. The channel adopts an open conformation at low or zero membrane potential and a closed conformation at potentials above 30-40 mV. The open state has a weak anion selectivity whereas the closed state is cation-selective.

Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, both VDAC1 and VDAC3 are very homologous with VDAC2. While we have not tested these antibodies specifically for cross-reactivity with VDAC1 and VDAC3, the antibodies ab37985 and ab118872 show ˜67% homology with both proteins. It is possible that they may show some cross-reactivity, but they are the least likely to react out of the antibodies we currently have available.
