I am sorry these are the only products we can recommend. The reason for recommendation is that there is very low sequence homology between the N-terminal and C-terminal end of vglut1 and vglut2. So I am presuming that antibodies against these sequences will detect the distinct proteins. ab110139 has not been tested in mouse species however if you check the immunogen sequence homology between mouse and human then it is 100% so it is more likely that this antibody will cross react and detect the mouse protein also. Mouse is an untested species so again this antibody is also eligible for Abreview discount programme. The validity of discount code is 4 months. Thank you for contacting us. The epitope of ab79157 has not been mapped so we do not know the degree of homology shared by epitope in vGlut1 and vGlut2 proteins. The predicted band size for vGlu2 protein is 64 kDa. I do agree that there are faint bands at 75 kDa and 50 kDa. I believe that with protocol optimizations the results could have been improved. We have used 10 ug of lysates while testing this antibody however we always recommend our customers using 30-40 ug of lysates per lane. We have used this antibody at 1/1000 dilution so we also recommend trying this antibody at range of dilutions e.g. 1/100, 1/500 and 1/1000 for optimized results. Ab79157 is fully guaranteed for detection of vGlut2; if however this product fails in applications as stated on the datasheet we will be happy to refund the money you pay. We have 8 Abreviews for ab72311 which shows it is a good product. The c terminal end of vGlut1 and vGLut2 does not show homology so this product could also be good in detection on only vGlut1. The N-terminal and C-terminal region amino acids of these proteins do not show sequence homology so the antibodies against the N or C terminal sequence will detect distinct protein they are raised against. Ab110139 and ab84103 immunogen show very low homology between each other. So these could be the products you are looking for. I am sorry we have not done any in-house cross reactivity tests with these products. Our assumption is based only on immunogen sequence homology.
