Relevance
Vitamin D3, also known as cholecalciferol, is a form of vitamin D that is made by the human body. It is made in the skin when 7-dehydrocholesterol reacts with UVB ultraviolet light with wavelengths 290 to 315 nm. This can be found in sunlight when the sun is high enough above the horizon for UVB to penetrate the atmosphere and is responsible for the production of cholecalciferol. Up to 20,000 IU can be made in the skin only after one minimal erythemal dose of exposure, or until the skin just begins to turn pink. -

Competitive ELISA - Anti-Vitamin D3 antibody [EPPTX-R6-42-12] (ab229820)
Goat anti-rabbit IgG was coated onto 96-wells. Serial dilutions (0, 2.5, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 ng/mL) of 25-OH-Vitamin-D (25 μL) were incubated with 20-25 ng/mL of ab229820 (50 μL) for 30 minutes by shaking.
This was followed by adding HRP-conjugated 25-OH-Vitamin-D (50 μL) into each well and incubating for another 30 minutes. After washing, 125 μL of Tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) substrate was added and incubated for 30 minutes without shaking for color development. OD was read at 450nm within 5 minutes.
