Target

  • Relevance

Yellow Fever Virus is a mosquito-borne species of the genus Flavivirus that causes yellow fever in Central and South America and Africa. Yellow fever (also called black vomit or sometimes The American Plague) is an acute viral disease. It is still an important cause of haemorrhage illness in several African and South American countries despite existence of an effective vaccine. In the past it was a source of several devastating epidemics.

Asked on Nov 02 2012

Answer

Thank you for your inquiry.

I have to confirm that this antibody does not detect human anti-yellow-fever-antibodies in human blood.

ab22839 detects the yellow fever virus itself in samples. The target protein of this antibody is a viral protein.

I am sorry to confirm that ab22839 most probably is not suitable for your experiments and hope this information is nevertheless helpful.
